Crazy Quilters of the Mid Ohio Valley: February 2008

It was a beautiful day for our February meeting. We had 17 plus attending. Lots of chatter and sharing before the meeting started.

NOTE: Newsletter (hardcopy) can be picked up at Sheryl's.

YEARLY DUES: The Guild yearly dues ($10.00) are to paid no later than the March meeting to remain in good standing.

Presently we have 3 projects in progress.

1. Our Block of the Month Sampler project presented last month by President Violet.

2. Lottery block for the year presented on the odd months of the year by Vice President/Treasurer Bonnie.

3. Challenge quilt due in June. Black and white plus one color of your choice.

#1: Block of the Month Sampler.
President Violet will hand out the pattern each month.

Select your own colors, 12.5 inch blocks unfinished. This will be your quilt at the end of 2008

February: Tulip Lady Fingers
January: Snow Churn

#2. Lottery Block for the Year
Vice President/Treasurer Bonnie will distribute the lottery block pattern on the odd months (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov) for the year. The blocks are due the following month. All blocks are 12.5 inch unfinished, 4 is the limit.

March: Spring star block, medium to light SPRING colors. But, no neon colors. White or white on white around the star (contact Bonnie for the pattern). This is not intended to be a baby quilt.
Jan: Star pattern of your choice, colors are no darker than sand.

#3. Challenge Quilt
Guild Challenge Quilt due finished at the June Meeting. Colors are black and white plus one color of your choice. Pattern of your choice.

Crafty Gift of the Month Drawing
We also had an exciting event. One of our members, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated 10 gifts for the year. Each month (Feb. - Nov.) a drawing will be held and someone will win a crafty gift. This month, I was the lucky winner. I won a cute fabric basket with ribbon ties at each corner.

I did capture Sherry's adorable pink and white dimensional pinwheel for her GD Abigial. It's so pretty.
